


Genmai Cha (Yabukita)

Cultivar: Yabukita | Vegetal, Grain, Toasty, Nutty
Believed to have originated in Japan in the 1920’s, monks would add toasted rice and popcorn to stretch their tea rations during times of economic uncertainty. This unique blend would end up becoming so popular it would later be dubbed as the “Peoples Tea”. Genmai Cha delivers a full array of flavor of sweet umami, toasted hazelnuts and a light smoky finish.
Genmai Cha contains moderate amounts of caffeine. Can be steeped for 3-5 infusions.
Ingredients: organic green tea, toasted brown rice, popcorn
Brewing:
2 tsp per 8oz (hot) / 4 tsp per 8oz (iced)
180ºF / 82ºC
3-4 minutes
